The Ministry of Industry is driving the strengthening of PT. Baoforging International Indonesia, located in KITIC (Karawang International Industrial City), Cikarang, Indonesia, as a strategic key to import substitution and reinforcement of the national industrial structure in strategic sectors.
The Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industries (ILMATE) at the Ministry of Industry, Setia Diarta, stated that PT. Baoforging International Indonesia’s capability to produce high-tech, internationally standardized oil and gas equipment demonstrates Indonesia’s readiness to reduce dependence on imported products.
“PT. Baoforging International Indonesia has shown increasingly competitive capabilities in terms of technology, product quality, and human resource readiness,” said Setia Diarta.
According to Setia, strengthening supporting industries like PT. Baoforging International Indonesia is an important part of building a resilient national industrial structure, particularly to ensure the sustainable availability of strategic equipment from domestic sources.
PT. Baoforging International Indonesia is a national manufacturing and engineering company that produces various types of forged valves, such as ball valves, SBB (Single Block and Bleed), DBB (Double Block and Bleed), and pneumatic valves. These products are used in vital sectors and manufactured through internationally standardized processes.
With a production capacity of approximately 12,000 units per year, PT. Baoforging International Indonesia not only meets domestic market needs but has also penetrated export markets, particularly to the Middle East region.
Setia Diarta emphasized that the government continues to encourage increased use of domestic products through consistent policies, especially in strategic sectors that have multiplier effects on the national economy.
“The utilization of domestic industrial products will drive increased employment, strengthened human resource competencies, and the development of a sustainable national industrial ecosystem,” he said.
The Ministry of Industry believes that strengthening supporting industries like PT. Baoforging International Indonesia not only contributes to national industrial resilience but also becomes part of a long-term strategy to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s manufacturing industry in the global market.
